If you do not hold a current practising certificate and wish to remain on the roll of solicitors, you need to take action before 28 May 2023.
The SRA is going to remove anyone from the roll who does not apply to remain on the roll by that date.
You will then no longer be a member of the Law Society or able to call yourself a solicitor (without a practising certificate).
There is a fee of £20 and this will need to be done annually.
This will also affect those who work in public departments who do not need a practising certificate.
